            Summary: Riel Notify processes transaction notification data locally on your device to provide audio alerts. We do NOT transmit or share your transaction notification data with external servers. Core transaction data stays on your device.
        

1. Overview

Riel Notify is a notification listener application that monitors banking app notifications to provide audio alerts for incoming money transfers in Khmer language.

This privacy policy explains how we handle your data when you use our app.

3. How We Use Your Data

Transaction Detection: We read banking app notifications to identify incoming money transfers.
Audio Alerts: Transaction amounts are converted to Khmer audio for audible alerts.
Transaction History: We store a local history of transactions for your reference.
Statistics: We calculate statistics (total transactions, amounts) from locally stored data.

            Important: Transaction notification processing happens entirely on your device. The app may make limited network requests for app update metadata and opening web links (for example, Privacy Policy), but does not upload or share transaction notification data.
        

4. Data Storage

All data is stored in a local Room database on your device
Data is protected by Android's app sandboxing security
Only Riel Notify can access the stored data
Data persists until you clear app data or uninstall the app

We do NOT share your data with anyone.

6. Permissions We Use

It does NOT read screen content (canRetrieveWindowContent=false), does NOT access passwords, and does NOT collect personal data.

7. Accessibility Service Usage

Why we use the Accessibility Service:

Riel Notify uses the Android Accessibility Service as a fallback mechanism to detect bank transaction notifications on certain Android versions where the NotificationListenerService may be less reliable.

What it does:

✅ Listens ONLY for TYPE_NOTIFICATION_STATE_CHANGED events
✅ Processes ONLY notifications from a pre-defined list of Cambodian banking apps
✅ Extracts the notification text to detect transaction amounts
✅ Announces the amount in Khmer audio

What it does NOT do:

❌ Does NOT read screen content (canRetrieveWindowContent=false)
❌ Does NOT access passwords, PINs, or any sensitive data
❌ Does NOT perform actions on behalf of the user
❌ Does NOT transmit transaction notification data to external servers
❌ Does NOT intercept data from non-banking apps
❌ Is NOT used for advertising, analytics, fraud detection, or account management

The Accessibility Service is used solely for App Functionality — to enable the core transaction audio notification feature of RielNotify.

The Accessibility Service is optional. Users can choose not to enable it and can revoke access at any time in Android Accessibility settings.

A prominent disclosure dialog is shown to users on first launch and before they enable the service, explaining its exact purpose in both Khmer and English.

8. Your Rights

Disable Accessibility Service: You can disable Riel Notify Accessibility Service at any time in Android Settings > Accessibility > Installed Apps > Riel Notify
Disable Notification Access: You can disable notification access at any time in Android Settings > Notifications > Notification Access
Clear Data: You can clear all app data via Android Settings > Apps > Riel Notify > Storage > Clear Data
Uninstall: Uninstalling the app removes all stored data permanently
View Data: You can view your transaction history within the app

9. Data Security

Data is stored in Android's protected app storage
Android's app sandboxing prevents other apps from accessing your data
We do not implement external data transfer, eliminating network security risks

10. Children's Privacy

Riel Notify is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
